Frequently Asked Questions

Which urn to choose?

The amount of ash depends on bone mass and bone density, which develop over the years of life. It cannot be determined by body weight alone, but it can be estimated using the following formula: 1 kg → ~0.04 l.

For example, in older people bone density decreases over time, and therefore the amount of ash is also reduced.

An adult or adolescent leaves on average 2.4–4.5 liters of ash, which requires a large urn.

From a child onwards. at the age of 2, the average amount of ash is 0.5–2.4 liters. Suitable for a medium urn. Also suitable for a smaller elderly person.

Pets (up to 16 kg) leave on average 0.6 liters of ash and are suited to a small urn.

For an infant up to 2 years of age, a small urn is suitable.

Post-cremation rituals with an urn?

Cremation is the most common method today. There are no set rules in Estonia. If desired, various rituals can be performed with the urn.

Burial – There are many good reasons to choose cremation, one of which is the limited space required in the cemetery. This allows loved ones to be buried next to each other.

Place of remembrance – you can store the urn at home. This way, you can plan the burial time with your loved ones at a later date.

Ash scattering – if you wish, the ashes can be scattered in a place that is important to you and the deceased. For example, after the ash scattering ritual, you can later bury the urn in the ground. The urn decomposes quickly.

Delivery time?

The average delivery time in Estonia is 1-2 working days from order confirmation.

Should I place my order quickly?
There is no need to worry or hurry. Cremation is usually scheduled after the farewell ceremony, giving you time to choose an urn in peace. Funeral homes are understanding and will assist you with using the urn you have selected.
